"A future of change
the same school as trust

On entering the 3rd Cycle, parents can opt for regular education, articulated dance education or articulated music education.

The teachers who teach the 3rd cycle of basic education have extensive experience in secondary education, so whenever possible, they work with classes from the 7th to 12th grades, which is an asset for preparing students and consolidating content, since the teachers know the profile of the students/classes and can more easily adapt strategies that lead to success.

The 3rd cycle is thought of and planned as an essential means of achieving good results in secondary school, with certain basic subject content being reinforced, which will be fundamental in the future. Motivation is also a major concern for those who teach these age groups, as the teaching load is high and the level of difficulty gradually increases. Therefore, targets are set according to the class profiles, while at the same time setting targets with the student, involving them in the teaching-appreciation-learning process.
The matrix includes subjects offered by the school in the artistic or technological areas, according to their specific nature and within the scope of their project. As part of the Skills 4.0 project, the school offers the Image, Video, Multimedia and Apps (IVMA) subject in the 7th and 8th grades, as well as the Art Education Complementary subject, which operates on a semester basis and has its own programmes.
Some subjects work on a semester basis, which makes it possible to reduce the number of subjects per semester and diversify assessment instruments and work methodologies, with room for the construction of portfolios; the development of projects that foster the formation of capable, critical, fulfilled, enterprising, resilient and creative citizens; the promotion of DACs (domains of curricular autonomy), among others. The matrix also includes the subject of Citizenship and Development, with project work methodology, which explores various themes: Environmental Education, Media and Entrepreneurship; Sustainable Development, Human Rights, Gender Equality and Institutions and Democratic Participation; Interculturality, Health and Sexuality, Financial Literacy and Consumer Education.

In conjunction, Colégio Rainha Dona Leonor offers supplementary curricular activities in various areas of knowledge and know-how, with in-house and external teachers who work closely with the teachers on the class council.
